Creating and sharing poetry in ASL is a fun and creative activity. ASL poetry incorporates figurative language such as: repetition, rhyme, rhythm, alliteration, symbols, metaphors, and more with the five parameters. It also utilizes unique features of speed, pauses, and classifiers.
In this series of four online classes, you wil:
- learn the basic principles of telling an ASL poem
- see video examples of ASL poems
- create your own ASL poem video (optional)
- discuss your process for creating your poem and get feedback for improvement
Join us for this 4-week class to improve your ASL, have fun with your family, and gain experience with a new form of artistic expression!
